Show notes:
In the first segment, our panelists discuss recent trends in workplace religious accommodations, including the impact of pandemic-era vaccine mandates and the Supreme Court’s Groff v. DeJoy decision. They explore how the EEOC is enforcing protections for employees, requiring employers to reasonably accommodate religious practices unless doing so creates an undue hardship, and highlight costly settlements that demonstrate the stakes for businesses that fail to respect workers’ sincerely held beliefs.
In the second segment of the show, we explore the court case EEOC v. Crystal Ridge Ski Area, LLC. The discussion centers on a Christian employee who was terminated for posting Bible verses on social media, examining how Title VII protects religious expression outside the workplace, the limits of employer control, and the broader implications for employees’ rights to practice and share their faith without fear of retaliation.
