Show notes:

In the first segment, our panelists discuss the post-Assad future of Syria under the transitional leadership of HTS. While the group has distanced itself from its jihadist past, its long-term intentions remain under scrutiny. The conversation explores HTS’s shift toward political engagement, the changing views within Salafist circles, and how religion might shape the emerging Syrian democracy in a society unlikely to embrace full secularism or Western-style privatized faith.

In the second segment of the show, we explore the court case Fellowship of Christian Athletes v. District of Columbia, where FCA challenges its removal from a D.C. high school campus. The case centers on the right of student religious groups to require shared beliefs among leaders while maintaining open access to all. The discussion highlights broader issues of religious freedom, equal access, and how faith-based student groups contribute to community and school culture.
