Show notes:
In the first segment, our panelists discuss Alabama’s renewed push to expand religious liberty in public education through Senate Bill 278, which would allow students to participate in off-campus, Bible-based instruction during school hours. Supporters, including Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth, argue the measure strengthens family choice and character education. Critics question its implications for church-state separation. The discussion explores how faith, education, and constitutional rights intersect in Alabama’s evolving approach to student religious opportunities.
In the second segment of the show, we explore the court case Gabriel Olivier v. City of Brandon, where a Mississippi evangelist challenges a city ordinance restricting religious speech in public parks. After being arrested for sharing his faith outside designated “protest zones,” Olivier’s case raises key First Amendment concerns. Now heading to the U.S. Supreme Court, the case questions whether cities can confine peaceful religious expression to remote areas, effectively silencing public evangelism.
