Show notes:

In the first segment, our panelists discuss the controversy in Ventura, California, where Mayor Joe Schroeder ordered Christian mom Tarin Swain to stop praying during her allotted time at a city council meeting. While other speakers were allowed to express themselves freely—even through performance art—Tarin was silenced when she chose to pray aloud. First Liberty argues this is a clear violation of her First Amendment rights and is demanding the city issue an apology and change its policy.

In the second segment of the show, we explore the court case Potter v. District of Columbia, involving firefighters and paramedics who were ordered to shave their religious beards despite a prior injunction protecting their rights. The city’s renewed enforcement of its grooming policy led to reassignment and pay cuts for those who refused to comply. The U.S. Court of Appeals ruled the lower court erred in dismissing contempt charges, reaffirming protections for religious liberty in the workplace.
