ABOUT ME

Robert (Bob) Burrow serves as General Counsel for the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists (NAD), a role he began in August 2023 following his election by the NAD executive committee. As the division’s primary legal counsel, Burrow provides guidance on a broad range of legal matters including compliance, governance, contracts, litigation, and risk management.

Prior to joining the NAD, Burrow spent over three decades with Adventist Risk Management, Inc. (ARM), where he rose to the position of vice president, chief legal officer, and general counsel. His experience spans defending church entities in complex cases, advising on employment and operational issues, and helping leaders proactively mitigate legal risks.

A graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Law and Columbia Union College (now Washington Adventist University), Burrow is known for his practical, solutions-oriented approach and his passion for freeing ministry leaders from legal burdens so they can focus on their calling.

He and his wife, Lisa—general counsel for the Columbia Union Conference—have two sons, Aaron and Andrew. Outside of work, Burrow enjoys family time, the beach, skiing, nature photography, reading, and cheering for Philadelphia sports teams.
