Show notes:

In the first segment, our panelists discuss America’s long history of religious freedom, from the Pilgrims to the First Amendment, and its vital role in shaping the nation. They examine the nomination of former Congressman Mark Walker as ambassador for International Religious Freedom and how his background in both ministry and public service positions him to advance global efforts against persecution. The discussion highlights why safeguarding faith abroad strengthens U.S. values and foreign policy.

In the second segment of the show, we explore the court case brought by Quaker congregations against the Department of Homeland Security. The lawsuit challenges the rollback of protections that once limited immigration enforcement in “sensitive locations” like churches and schools. Faith leaders argue the policy change deters immigrants from attending worship and undermines religious freedom. Panelists consider the legal, constitutional, and community implications of allowing ICE access to sacred spaces.
