Show notes:

In the first segment, our panelists discuss congressional efforts to recognize April as Sikh History Month and the contributions Sikh Americans have made through faith, service, and community leadership. The conversation explores the importance of religious diversity, public recognition of minority faiths, and how honoring different religious traditions reflects America’s commitment to religious liberty and inclusion.

In the second segment of the show, we explore the court case Lorenzo v. San Francisco Zen Center, examining whether participants in a Buddhist monastery’s residential training program should be considered employees entitled to wages or religious trainees engaged in spiritual formation. The discussion considers the balance between labor laws and the constitutional protection of religious organizations’ internal religious practices.
