Show notes:
In the first segment, our panelists discuss Walmart’s new scheduling guidelines, which may force employees to choose between their faith and their full-time employment. As weekend availability becomes a requirement for stable hours, many religious employees who observe the Sabbath are left without protection. Does this violate religious freedom in the workplace?
In the second segment of the show, we examine the legal battle Seventh-Day Baptist Church of Daytona Beach v. City of Daytona Beach. The city has ordered the church to stop its long-standing food pantry, citing zoning laws that only restrict places of worship. Is this a fair application of the law, or an unjust targeting of religious institutions?
About the Show: Faith and Politics is a show dedicated to discussing issues surrounding the intersection of Church, State and politics and the examination of whether you are allowing your faith to shape your politics or your politics starting to shape your faith. What do you do when God and government come face to face?
